PE Days are on Wednesdays and Fridays. Reception children are to come in their PE uniform . (Please remember long joggers or leggings in the colder weather- thank you!).

Home work Expectations- Reading is vital in the Early years in order to develop phonic knowledge as well as develop a life long love of reading to support their learning. Each week, the Reception children will bring home a 'book I can read' for them to apply their phonics skills learnt in school and a 'book I can share' which is a story the children choose themselves to be read with at home. Please read every day with your children. Share books will be changed every Monday and reading books every Thursday. Children are able to swap their share book every day if they wish.

Please see our phonics support page for parents for information on our phonics scheme 'Little Wandle'.

 Little Wandle Phonics

This half term we have been exploring Traditional Fairy Tales. We have grown our own beanstalks and written our own instructions on how to plant them. We learnt what plants need to grow by doing our own experiments without water and sunlight. The children have done some incredible independent writing this half term and we have enjoyed retelling the stories using props. Please see our summer newsletter and topic web below to see what we are covering in our curriculum this term.

Reception and Year 1 classes enjoyed having the Kidderminster Harriers in to teach them some football skills! We learnt how to balance on the ball using different body parts as well as learning how to control the ball using only our feet. The Reception children listened beautifully and had a brilliant time! Well done everyone!
