Curriculum Intent 

At St George’s CE Primary School we want our pupils to have a variety of opportunities to explore, choose and experiment in art. By expressing themselves in this way, and through planned repetition, they develop new skills in using a wide range of media and techniques to produce unique and expressive artwork.

By experiencing the work of artists, cultures, genres and works of art from the past and present, our pupils develop the language and knowledge to show appreciation of the work of others and themselves.

Our curriculum vision is that pupils are educated for ‘life in all its fullness’, within art this means that they develop confidence about their own art work; understand that in art a product is neither right nor wrong but rather reflects an individual’s expression of what is important to them.
