Collective Worship

Our Christian Vision:

At St. George’s C.E. Primary School, our vision is to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where every member of our diverse school family is valued, respected, and nurtured. Rooted in the teaching “Though we are many parts, together we make one body” (Romans 12:4-6), we celebrate individual strengths while supporting everyone to flourish as part of a unified community.

Collective Worship at St. George’s:

Collective Worship is the heartbeat of our school, reflecting our Christian vision and values: Believe, Belong, Flourish. It provides an opportunity for pupils and staff to encounter faith, explore Christian teachings, and reflect on life’s big questions. Daily worship includes prayer, reflection, stories, and song, and is structured around the structure of ‘We Gather, We Listen, We Respond, and We Go’.

Our daily acts of worship are:

Inclusive: accessible and respectful of all faiths and beliefs.

Invitational: providing opportunities for reflection and prayer without compulsion.

Inspiring: encouraging thought, action, and a deeper understanding of ourselves and others.

Partnership with St. George’s Parish Church

We work closely with St. George’s Parish Church, where church leaders regularly lead worship, and children participate in services at the church such as Harvest, Remembrance, Christmas, and Easter. This partnerships strengthen our connection to the Anglican traditions that underpin our school’s ethos.

Parents are welcome to attend our collective worship events, and while we encourage all children to participate, parents may choose to withdraw their children after discussing this with the Headteacher.

Our Collective Worship uses the cross as a foci, candles, the Bible, coloured table cloths and music to create a reflective and respectful atmosphere. Significant dates from the Christian calendar and other faith traditions are also celebrated, ensuring our worship reflects the diversity of our school community.
